
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has reduced its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices with effect from Friday, October 1, following an increase on September 25. NALCO has cut its aluminium ingot price by INR 1,400 per tonne to INR 244,950-248,450 per tonne on October 1. On September 25, the price stood at INR 246,350-249,850 per tonne, increasing by INR 3,500 per tonne from 242,850-246,350 per tonne.

NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price has also witnessed a decrease of INR 1,400 per tonne with effect from October 1, which brought the price from INR 248,850–253,200 per tonne on September 25 to INR 247,450-251,800 per tonne.
NALCO is now selling its aluminium billets at INR 248,400-251,050 per tonne, compared to INR 249,800 – 252,450 per tonne on October 25.
NALCO links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which stood at US$2,865 per tonne as of October 1, declining by US$40.50 per tonne over the week. However, on a month-on-month basis, the price is up by US$197.50 per tonne from US$2,667.50 per tonne, and on a year-on-year calculation, it is higher by US$1,149 per tonne than US$1,716 per tonne.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
