NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price has also witnessed a decrease of INR 1,400 per tonne with effect from October 1, which brought the price from INR 248,850–253,200 per tonne on September 25 to INR 247,450-251,800 per tonne.

NALCO is now selling its aluminium billets at INR 248,400-251,050 per tonne, compared to INR 249,800 – 252,450 per tonne on October 25.

NALCO links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which stood at US$2,865 per tonne as of October 1, declining by US$40.50 per tonne over the week. However, on a month-on-month basis, the price is up by US$197.50 per tonne from US$2,667.50 per tonne, and on a year-on-year calculation, it is higher by US$1,149 per tonne than US$1,716 per tonne.

Outlook for the Indian Aluminium Industry

NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
