FACE – Federation of Aluminium Consumers in Europe welcomes the commitments made by the European Union and Canada in their joint statement, Canada and the European Union Building Together an Alliance for the Future , which strengthens cooperation on economic security, supply chain resilience and access to strategic raw materials. Of particular significance is the commitment to accelerate investment in critical raw materials projects across the entire value chain: from extraction to processing, refining and manufacturing, through to recycling. Supply-side dominated destocking logic: November aluminium ingot inventory outlook amid shipping constraints and import inflows
According to SMM statistics, as of October 29, primary aluminium ingot inventory in major domestic consumption areas stood at 549,000 tonnes, down 89,000 tonnes from 638,000 tonnes at end-September, and down 137,000 tonnes from the post-National Day holiday peak (686,000 tonnes on October 8). Current domestic aluminium ingot inventory has fallen to a low for the same period over the past four years. Looking back at the full month of October, domestic aluminium ingot inventory followed a clear "three-stage" pattern: a phased inventory buildup of 48,000 tonnes during the National Day holiday, below pre-holiday expectations; after the holiday, warehouse withdrawals rebounded quickly and destocking accelerated significantly, with cumulative destocking of 84,000 tonnes over the three weeks...

Aluminium billet stocks fall for a third week; shipments stay high, processing fees diverge
According to SMM statistics, China's aluminium billet inventories at major consumption areas stood at 138,000 tonnes on October 29, down 10,500 tonnes from Thursday a week earlier and down 4,000 tonnes from Monday this week, marking a third consecutive weekly decline since the National Day holiday. Compared with the same week in previous years, inventories are broadly flat with 2025 and about 24,000 tonnes higher than 2024, having returned to the level of the past two years. Weekly billet shipments totalled 56,800 tonnes over October 19-25, down 1,100 tonnes from the previous period but still clearly above the same period in the previous three years. AAC launches new certification program for anodising facilities
The Aluminium Anodizers Council (AAC) has recently launched the AAC Anodizing Certification Program, an independent certification program developed specifically for facilities that perform aluminium anodising. Announced at the AAC Annual Conference this October, the program gives anodisers an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to meet established industry standards for quality and consistency. It also gives customers and specifiers greater confidence when selecting an anodising partner. Futures: The most traded aluminium contract on the SHFE opened at CNY 23,310/tonne in the overnight session on October 29, reached a high of CNY 23,405 per tonne and a low of CNY 23,280 per tonne, and closed at CNY 23,375/tonne, up CNY 65 per tonne, or 0.28 per cent, from the previous close. The contract consolidated at the lows with a slight rebound, with prices holding above the 20-day moving average, while the 5/10/40/60-day moving averages formed resistance above.
