Limited amount of workers for bauxite mine

Only 10-15 overseas workers will be allowed to work at the bauxite mine in Bua.
Human Resources Manager of Aurum Exploration Fiji Limited Basilio Vanuaca said if only there are specialized jobs that locals cannot do then they will look to hire more Chinese workers.
Vanuaca said if these specialists are hired, they will be providing training to the locals for them to be able to operate these machines on their own.
Meanwhile, the recent typhoid outbreak in Vanua Levu has halted the mining in Bua with the company told to evacuate the area and to wait for further notice.
