The Solomon Islands Government has expanded its investigation into bauxite exports from Rennell Island, confirming that former Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and other officials who held office during the period under review may be consulted as part of the inquiry. Canyon Resources has taken delivery of the first locomotives for its Minim Martap bauxite project in Cameroon. The mine is being developed by its subsidiary, Camalco Cameroon, which expects an initial fleet of seven locomotives and 160 wagons to transport 35,000 tonnes of bauxite a month.
