
Soon after a day of decline, Hindalco’s aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices have seen a rise with effect from Wednesday, September 22. Hindalco Industries Limited has increased its aluminium ingot price by INR 1,250 per tonne or 0.52 per cent to INR 243,250 per tonne on September 22. On Tuesday, September 21, the price stood at INR 242,000 per tonne, down by INR 5,000 per tonne from the previous day.

Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price has also been grown by INR 1,250 per tonne from INR 253,100 per tonne on September 21 to INR 254,350 per tonne on September 22. With effect from today, Hindalco is selling its aluminium billets at INR 250,350 per tonne in comparison with INR 249,100 per tonne on September 21.
Hindalco Industries Limited links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which increased on Monday, September 21, by US$17 per tonne to stand at US$2,864 per tonne. So, on a month-on-month calculation, the price stood up by around US$295 per tonne, and on a year-on-year basis, it was higher by US$1,111.50 per tonne than US$ 1,752.50 per tonne.
Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc, generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
