Policy push for electronics manufacturing
The recent project by Hindalco will be built under the Andhra Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025–30. According to this, the government will incentivise the facility with subsidised land and infrastructural support. This policy is directed at large-scale investments and strengthening Andhra Pradesh as a base for advanced component manufacturing.
According to the business experts, Hindalco’s new development is going to significantly contribute to industrial growth and, at the same time, perfectly enhance employment opportunities and skill development in the region.
New investment lined up in the future
Along with Hindalco’s new aluminium extrusion facility, companies like Syrma SGS Technology are all set to explore the potential of large-scale investments in Andhra Pradesh. Syrma has also proposed an INR 1,800 crore investment to build a manufacturing unit formultilayer PCBs and copper-clad laminates, which would further strengthen the electronics manufacturing ecosystem in India.
India rising in global tech manufacturing
Hindalco’s new aluminium extrusion facility is a bold leap towards India’s journey towards becoming a leader in the global tech supply chain. Simultaneously, for Apple, this initiative identifies its strategy to diversify and strengthen its sourcing and manufacturing operations across India. It will cut down manufacturing overheads significantly while reducing reliance on other regions for supplying aluminium products. It reflects a convergence of India’s industrial growth and Apple’s global strategy for supply chain security.
