US aluminium manufacturers launch alliance to address tariff concerns

US aluminium fabricators, extruders and finished-product manufacturers have launched the American Aluminum Alliance. This is a new trade association representing companies at the downstream end of the country’s aluminium value chain.
The alliance brings together manufacturers that use aluminium to produce products including fence and gate systems, accessibility ramps and stairs, windows and doors, as well as components for the aerospace and automotive industries. Its members also manufacture boats, trailers, RVs and other aluminium products in the US.
The group was formed around concerns that the current aluminium tariff structure is increasing costs for US manufacturers that purchase aluminium, without creating equivalent costs for imported finished products.
The American Aluminum Alliance is incorporated in Washington, D.C. Its founding board adopted bylaws and elected officers at its first board meeting on August 4, 2026. The founding members operate manufacturing facilities across the US and employ thousands of workers in America.
The alliance’s founding membership remains open, and it is seeking manufacturers from additional product segments to join.
The organisation will advocate for what it describes as fair and transparent aluminium markets, globally competitive input costs and trade and industrial policies that support the wider US aluminium value chain.
According to the alliance, its focus is on enabling American manufacturers to invest, expand operations, create jobs and compete with finished products manufactured overseas.
