FUCHS Lubricants Co., the world’s largest independent lubricant manufacturer, is pleased to announce the published Boeing BAC 5008 Sections 5-6 approval for ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000, an advanced water-miscible metalworking fluid engineered for the demanding requirements of aerospace machining. Designed for high-performance operations involving titanium, nickel-based alloys, aluminum, and super alloys, ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000 delivers the highest levels of innovative lubricity additives, optimal cooling, excellent wetting and cleanliness properties, low foam, and excellent biological control to provide long fluid life in challenging machining environments.

ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000 is free of boron, sulfur, chlorine, secondary amines, monoethanolamine (MEA), triethanolamine (TEA), and registered biocides. FUCHS’ patented technology gives aerospace manufacturers a differentiated solution with an unmatched EH&S profile. ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000 is has been certified as non-irritating by a panel of clinical pathologists to increase operator acceptability and improve the work environment.

The Boeing BAC 5008 Sections 5-6 approval adds to a growing list of aerospace recognitions for ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000, including AIRBUS approval in the latest version of AIPS 00-00-010, SAFRAN PR6300, and ROLLS-ROYCE CSS 129131 Category 2. “Boeing BAC 5008 is one of the most respected and demanding specifications in aerospace manufacturing.

The approval of ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000 provides customers with added confidence that they are selecting a solution that has successfully met Boeing’s stringent requirements and delivering assurance in critical aerospace machining applications,” remarked Dave Smith of Admiral Metalworking Fluids, a customer of FUCHS Lubricants.  FUCHS also specifies the fluid for use with difficult-to-machine aerospace alloys and documents its contribution to process reliability, operator acceptance, and compliance with relevant global regulatory requirements.

“Achieving Boeing BAC 5008 sections 5-6 approval is a major milestone that validates both the performance and the innovation behind this technology,” said Allison Dreznes, Product Manager – Metal Working Fluids, FUCHS Lubricants Co. “This next-generation metalworking fluid was engineered specifically for the demanding challenges of aerospace machining; delivering exceptional lubricity, enhanced cooling, and foam control. This approval reinforces that aerospace manufacturers no longer have to choose between regulatory hazards, operator acceptance, and world-class machining performance.”

FUCHS developed ECOCOOL GLOBAL 1000 specifically to address the evolving needs of aerospace manufacturers facing tighter machining tolerances, advanced alloys that generate higher machining temperatures, and increasing chemical restrictions. “Our role at FUCHS is to help customers solve these challenges with proven technology that supports both performance on the shop floor and confidence in qualification,” stated Mike Lyon, Sales Engineer at FUCHS Lubricants Co.  The company notes performance benefits including improved tool life, compatibility with critical alloys, and extended sump life, helping support both machining performance and operational efficiency.
