According to China customs data, the country’s aluminium extrusion exports (tariff codes 76041010, 76041090, 76042100, 76042910, 76042990) stood at 88,100 tonnes in November 2021, up by 18 per cent month-on-month and an increase of 5 per cent year-on-year.

Of the total exports, the European Union accounted for 6.95 per cent, meaning China exported 6,100 tonnes, 17 per cent more than a month and 19 per cent than a year.
The other main export destinations in November included Vietnam, accounting for 10.22 per cent, Nigeria 10.22 per cent, the Philippines 6.98 per cent, Nigeria 4.52 per cent, Malaysia 4.44 per cent, and Australia 4.39 per cent. The exports to other 150 countries accounted for more than 70 per cent of the total exports.
Among the Chinese provinces, the exports from Guangdong remained the highest, accounting for 54.9 per cent of the total volume. Shandong exported 11.76 per cent of aluminium extrusions to the European Union.
The SHFE/LME price ratio dropped rapidly to 7.07 in November, which facilitated higher volume of exports from China to the European Union, resulting in increased export profits. According to SMM, the domestic traders are active in exports. In December, amid Christmas and New Year’s holidays, aluminium extrusion exports are expected to correct slightly, in spite of low levels of LME aluminium price ratio.
