Updated: Investigators to be dispatched to caved-in bauxite mine that killed one

There was a fatal accident in which one person died and another was critically injured after a bauxite mining pit at Aroaima caved in.The site belongs to Bauxite Company of Guyana Incorporated (BCGI), the local subsidiary of UC Rusal.
Prime Minister Samuel Hinds said a team of investigators would be dispatched to the kwakwani, Upper Berbice river location.
"Early in this week, a team will be appointed to conduct a full investigation into this fatal accident in an effort to establish where regulations to ensure occupational safety and health might not have been satisfied, and to determine other factors, if any, that might have contributed to this unfortunate incident," Hinds said in a statement.
