Primetals wins 23-package order from China’s Dingsheng for aluminium foil expansion

London-based Primetals Technologies has won a new order from the Chinese aluminium flat-rolled products (FRPs) and processing items manufacturer Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials, to supply 23 equipment packages for its aluminium foil mill expansion projects in China. Signed in August 2026, the contract covers Air Bearing ShapeMeters (ABSM), ISV-Electric and ISV-Electric Compact spray bars, and VPT3 position transducers for several locations.
The technologies are designed to strengthen strip shape control and process performance, reinforcing Dingsheng’s efforts to expand aluminium foil capacity while maintaining consistent product quality and efficient mill operation.

The order is also notable for Primetals as it marks its second major project in China involving ISV-Electric and ISV-Electric Compact spray bar technologies. The repeat order indicates growing confidence in electric spray bars and their performance in modern rolling mill applications.
Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials, an aluminium foil manufacturer, is expanding capacity while continuing to invest in advanced rolling mill technologies. Primetals’ solution combines the Air Bearing ShapeMeter (ABSM), Integral Solenoid Valve (ISV) and VPT3 position measurement transducer to provide integrated strip shape measurement and control.
The system is intended to improve strip flatness, product quality and operational efficiency, enabling Dingsheng to produce aluminium products more consistently while lowering operating costs.
Prior to this, other projects have included some of the largest orders placed for Air Bearing ShapeMeters and ISV spray bar systems, making the latest 23-package contract another significant step in the ongoing deployment of Primetals’ rolling technologies across Dingsheng’s aluminium operations.
The contract boosts the established relationship between the two companies. Dingsheng has repeatedly selected Primetals Technologies’ flatness measurement and control solutions for its aluminium rolling operations.
