India’s PG Foils and Bahrain join hands to build high-value aluminium foil plant
India-based PG Foils Limited plans to establish a downstream aluminium manufacturing facility in Bahrain, focusing on electric vehicle (EV) battery foil and pharmaceutical foil production. The proposed investment is expected to expand the kingdom’s aluminium downstream capabilities and strengthen its manufacturing base. Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce signed a letter of intent with PG Foils for the project. The agreement was signed by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro and PG Foils Joint Managing Director Sahil Shah during the fourth edition of the Gateway Gulf expo, which opened on November 1 in Manama. Constellium SE has raised its full-year financial outlook after reporting stronger earnings across its major aluminium businesses, supported by improved aerospace demand, favourable pricing and product mix, and robust recycling performance. However, lower shipments across parts of its portfolio highlight an uneven recovery in end-market demand. China’s aluminium FRP exports to the US jump 278% in H1 2026
China exported 208,000 tonnes of aluminium flat-rolled products (FRP) to the United States in the first half of 2026, compared with 55,000 tonnes in the same period last year. This was an increase of 278.2 per cent, with plates, sheets and strip accounting for most of the growth. Exports of plates, sheets and strip (HS 7606) reached 184,000 tonnes in H1 2026, up from 33,000 tonnes a year earlier, an increase of 457.6 per cent. Shipments rose from 86,000 tonnes in Q1 to 98,000 tonnes in Q2, up 14 per cent. Compared with the 13,000 tonnes exported in Q2 2025, the latest figure was 653.8 per cent higher. Germany’s aluminium FRP exports to Poland fall 16% through July 2026
Germany’s aluminium flat-rolled product (FRP) exports to Poland fell 16.3 per cent year on year in January–July 2026, reaching 86,723 tonnes, compared with 103,658 tonnes in the same period of 2025. The volume was also 2.8 per cent lower than the 89,181 tonnes recorded in January–July 2024. However, exports were 2 per cent higher than the 85,018 tonnes shipped during the first seven months of 2023. The decline follows an increase in shipments during the previous two years. Exports rose 16.2 per cent between January–July 2024 and the same period in 2025, while the 2024 volume was 5 per cent higher than in 2023. London-based Primetals Technologies has won a new order from the Chinese aluminium flat-rolled products (FRPs) and processing items manufacturer Jiangsu Dingsheng New Materials, to supply 23 equipment packages for its aluminium foil mill expansion projects in China. Signed in August 2026, the contract covers Air Bearing ShapeMeters (ABSM), ISV-Electric and ISV-Electric Compact spray bars, and VPT3 position transducers for several locations. In the trade of aluminium semi-fabricated products such as sheets, plates, foils, extruded profiles, tubes, and wire, the import volume of the US in the January-March or first quarter of 2026 marks a significant year-on-year rise, driven by strong demand and limited domestic smelting capacity. According to the data recorded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), as of Q1 2026, the volume of US imports of semi-fabricated aluminium products amounted to 423,000 tonnes .
