To start with, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) bagged the ASI Performance Standard Certification for aluminium smelter and casthouse operations and other associated facilities at Jebel Ali plant in the UAE. Having an annual production capacity of more than one million tonnes of aluminium, the facility produces aluminium products in three main categories: high purity and foundry re-melt products, and billets for extrusion and forging, destined for several downstream uses in the electronics, aerospace, automotive, packaging, lithographic sheets, construction, and transportation sectors.

Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. bagged the ASI Chain of Custody Standard Certification for smelting, casting and sawing activities for the production of aluminium alloy flat ingots. In a year, the facility can produce 150,000 tonnes of mid-to-high-end aluminium alloy flat ingot.
Shangqiu Yangguang Aluminium Product Co., Ltd. also received the Chain of Custody Standard certification on August 20 for aluminium smelting, cold rolling, annealing and packing operations, and related management activities. Shangqiu Yangguang Aluminium’s main products are aluminium and aluminium alloy plate and aluminium sheet and strip.
Besides, the largest distributor of aluminium extrusion in Indonesia, HK Metals Utama revealed that its aluminium sales grew significantly amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 financial statement of the company reflects that throughout the year the aluminium sales surged to Rp 264.11 billion when compared to the previous year's Rp 225.86 billion. Concurrently, until Q1 2021, aluminium sales were still the largest contributor to the Company's revenue of Rp 67.95 billion, despite its decrease to Rp 91.44 billion.

Alcomet, a manufacturer of aluminium products in Bulgaria, announced that it received green nod for its 1.7 million euro ($2 million) project ALUGREEN (Greener anodizing for cleaner nature) under the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs programme for Bulgaria supported by Norway grants. The anodizing project is likely to enhance the company’s competitiveness through the implementation of innovative green processes in Alcomet’s anodizing shop in the northeastern city of Shumen over the next 18 months, SeeNews reported.
