Downstream weekly recap: ADC revokes anti-dumping duties on aluminium profiles imported from Vietnam and Malaysia; AKFA plans to expand aluminium products export in 2022

EDITED BY : SARNALI CHAKRABORTY 4MINS READ

The global aluminium industry’s most vital segment is the downstream part, which converts aluminium into manufacturing feedstock. Because commercial manufacturers obtain the products produced here, downstream is one of the most important areas in the aluminium industry. This week the global aluminium downstream sector witnessed some significant events. To begin with, the Australia Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) had finished its final examination of the anti-dumping tariff period for aluminium profiles from Vietnam and Malaysia. Due to increased demand for building materials, industrial components, and transportation-related items due to the global economy's recovery from COVID-19, AKFA plans to increase its exports. A Virginia jury found Belvac Production Machinery, a pioneer in designing and constructing equipment for aluminium cans, not guilty. The jury determined that container maker Belvac Production Machinery did not infringe on rival Crown Packaging's patents on a machine used to produce aluminium beverage cans.
