Constellium N.V. is reportedly supplying front Crash Management Systems and other aluminium structural components to the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class from its plants in Gottmadingen, Germany, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The news came after the company itself declared about this on Thursday, January 24.

Aluminium Crash Management Systems improve vehicle safety in the event of a collision. It protects not only the occupants but the vehicle as well, owing to the superior energy absorption and crash behaviour. Needless to say, aluminium is a natural choice of metal for any automaker for producing lighter, safer, and more fuel-efficient vehicles.
General Manager of Constellium’s Automotive Structures business Lionel Chapis said: "We are very proud to supply the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class with our advanced structural solutions. This confirms the strong relationship we have built over the years with Mercedes-Benz, and we are glad to support them globally thanks to our expanding footprint."
Constellium is a long time supplier of Mercedes-Benz for both rolled products and structural components.
Constellium at its Gottmadingen plant produces customised aluminium automotive structures and Crash Management Systems for its automotive customers. The plant features advanced development and prototyping capabilities.
