China’s A00 aluminium ingot price augments by RMB110/t; Australian alumina FOB price loses RMB20.75/t

A00 aluminium ingot price has witnessed RMB 110 per tonne levitation in China, officially closing at RMB 18,470 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on May 8, Monday. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,450 per tonne and RMB 18,490 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at premium prices of RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne.

The eight provinces in China all marked escalating prices today, with the aluminium price rising the highest in Wuxi by RMB 120 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,480 per tonne, followed by Hangzhou, where the aluminium price shot up by RMB 110 per tonne to close at RMB 18,500 per tonne. In Chongqing, the aluminium price increased by RMB 100 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,570 per tonne. In Gongyi and Linyi, the aluminium prices have gained RMB 90 per tonne, officially stopping at RMB 18,380 per tonne and RMB 18,530 per tonne. In Foshan, the aluminium price has gone up by RMB 80 per tonne, sitting at RMB 18,540 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Shenyang and Tianjin have halted at RMB 18,520 per tonne, with the former having faced RMB 80 per tonne hike and the latter witnessing RMB 60 per tonne addition.

The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have both augmented by RMB 100 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 26,200 per tonne and RMB 27,200 per tonne.

The average spot price of alumina has shrunk by RMB 1 per tonne, halting at RMB 2,893 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price tanks by RMB 20.75 per tonne to close at RMB 2,385.95 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A365) has risen by RMB 100 per tonne, stopping at RMB 19,250 per tonne, while the price of aluminium alloy (A360) has closed at RMB 19,500 per tonne, with a similar spike.

The price of aluminium powder has gained RMB 0.10 per kg, resting at RMB 20.30 per kg, with average prices hovering between RMB 20.20 per kg and RMB 20.40 per kg.
