LME aluminium cash bid slips to $3,283/t, Asian reference price down 0.40%

London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium prices moved lower on September 18, with cash, three-month and Dec-27 contracts declining from the previous session. The LME aluminium price overview also showed the Asian reference price falling, while cancelled warrants increased. Opening stocks and live warrants edged lower.
The LME aluminium cash bid price fell 0.60 per cent to USD 3,283 per tonne from USD 3,302.5 per tonne, while the cash offer price declined 0.56 per cent to USD 3,285 per tonne from USD 3,303.5 per tonne.
The three-month aluminium bid price fell 0.08 per cent to USD 3,281.50 per tonne from USD 3,284 per tonne. The offer price declined 0.09 per cent to USD 3,282 per tonne from USD 3,285 per tonne.
For the Dec-27 contract, both the bid and offer prices fell 0.25 per cent. The bid price declined to USD 3,195 per tonne from USD 3,203 per tonne, while the offer price eased to USD 3,200 per tonne from USD 3,208 per tonne.

The LME aluminium Asian reference price declined 0.40 per cent to USD 3,288.50 per tonne on September 18 from USD 3,301.50 per tonne on September 17.
LME aluminium opening stocks fell 0.41 per cent to 242,600 tonnes from 243,600 tonnes. Live warrants also declined 0.08 per cent to 238,475 tonnes from 238,675 tonnes.

Meanwhile, cancelled warrants increased 5.10 per cent to 4,125 tonnes from 3,925 tonnes in the previous session.
The LME alumina Platts price edged down to USD 355.60 per tonne from USD 356 per tonne in the previous session.
