Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), a UAE based environmental group is going to launch their “Annual Can Collection Drive 2021,” on November 6, 2021. For the “Annual Can Collection Drive 2021,” the UAE residents have been asked to register online and start collecting aluminium cans for the drive. The residents can drop their collected cans on the day of the event, i.e. on November 6, 2021. The location for dropping the cans will be revealed a week prior to the commencement of the drive. Aluminium packaging recycling rate increased by 5%, says the Environment Agency
The Environment Agency in July released data, according to which 42,857 tonnes of aluminium packaging was collected for the Q2 2021 recycling, a 5% increase to what was collected in 2020 (40,903 tonnes). Around 84,704 tonnes of aluminium packaging have been collected in 2021, an increase of 1,650 tonnes compared to the period of January to June in 2020, including more than 59,000 tonnes from the kerbside, and also around c.23, 000 tonnes collected from the incinerator bottom ash ( up by 7%).
