Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), a UAE based environmental group is going to launch their “Annual Can Collection Drive 2021,” on November 6, 2021.
For the “Annual Can Collection Drive 2021,” the UAE residents have been asked to register online and start collecting aluminium cans for the drive. The residents can drop their collected cans on the day of the event, i.e. on November 6, 2021. The location for dropping the cans will be revealed a week prior to the commencement of the drive.
Previously this year, during the 25th annual can collection drive, around 2.57 tonnes of aluminium cans were collected till the end of July. This means that around 12.9 percent of the goal (20 tonnes) set by Emirates Environmental Group for the entire 2021 has been achieved. In 2020, around 11.67 tonnes of aluminium cans were collected for recycling.
According to EEG, “We need to come together to promote recycling for all, and uphold our responsibility towards the preservation of the environment. Recycling is the simplest way to conserve resources and the best platform to ensure that we close the loop and bring about a circular economy.”
