The global export-import data estimates that the aluminium tubes and pipes exports from Denmark are likely to see a drop this year by 5.2 per cent to come in at 17,006 tonnes. Last year, the exports remained flat at 17,940 tonnes, as compared with 17,973 tonnes in 2017. Germany is expected to be the leading destination of Denmark’s aluminium tubes and pipes exports, securing an estimated amount of 3,497 tonnes at US$ 13 million. The Czech Republic and France are likely to follow Germany, importing 3,303 tonnes at US$ 15 million and 2,810 tonnes at US$10 million, respectively.
In tandem with the estimated decline in Denmark’s aluminium tubes and pipes export volume, the country’s export value is also expected to dwindle by 10 per cent to US$80 million in 2019. In 2018, the country had exported aluminium tubes and pipes at the value of US$89 million, compared with US$ 88 million in 2017. This means the decline in 2018 was marginal, as a consequence of the flat amount of export. 2017, however, saw a robust rise in export value, in tandem with the significant rise in volume. From US$23 million in 2016, the value in 2017 grew to US$88 million, up 282 per cent.

The global metal pipe market is estimated to reach US$97.7 billion by 2023 with a CAGR of 3.9 per cent from 2018 to 2023, according to a market report published by Lucintel. Aluminium pipes and tubes, in particular, are seeing increasing demand, owing to a distinctive combination of versatility and affordability. Other advantages like high strength to weight ratio, airtightness, corrosion resistance, and receptiveness are making aluminium pipes and tubes even more popular, especially in the building and construction industry.
