After a winter heating season between November 2017 and March 2018, which had literally resulted in a temporary manufacturing halt, aluminium extrusion producers in North China are gradually recommencing their productions.
As reported by Shanghai Metal Market, one company in Hebei province has begun operating its three out of five machines and receiving orders for April close to a maximum capacity. Shanghai Metal Market is thus expecting the aluminium processing companies to have a rise in their productions month-on-month in April due to a delayed downstream consumption recovery.

However, regulations on heat and pollutant emissions from manufacturers will continue to be enforced by the Chinese government during the non-heating season from April 1, 2018 to November 15, 2018 for keeping air pollution at check. The city of Handan province has proposed to intensify its efforts further in regulating some of the key companies, reducing pollution emission from factories and manufacturers, reinforcing control on pollutants from heavy-duty trucks and inspecting traffic control.
Experts from the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute and the E20 Environmental Platform have announced that they will jointly assess 581 enterprises in the top 10 key sectors, with the help of Department of Development and Reform and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. They will assess and evaluate enterprises with indicators such as emission levels, equipment use, engineering management, clean production methods and environmental impact and will grade the enterprises as A, B, C or D, depending on the assessment of varied production cuts.
Traffic control shall be supervised in main urban areas and built-up areas by diving vehicles into five groups and allowing each of them on the road from Monday to Friday.
The law enforcement inspection group from the City Environmental Pollution Bureau has also proposed to put more efforts in regulating key enterprises across all industries and shall punish them who fail to operate pollution control equipment according to the guidelines or discharge excessive pollutants.
Nonetheless, these strict guidelines and regulations should not affect the aluminium extrusion production in the near future. Rather, the production should continue to grow within the enforced laws and guidelines.
