
Aludium, a manufacturer and supplier of rolled aluminium products in Europe, has reported that it has just released its first Sustainability Report, covering the year 2017. The company aims to establish their commitment to transparency in their dealing with people, customers, communities, and the environment. Aludium has titled their report ‘At the heart of our business’.
Commenting on the release of the report Arnaud de Weert, CEO of Aludium said, “The release of this Sustainability Report affirms Aludium’s commitment to operate transparently, and with the best interests of our people, customers, communities, and the environment in mind,”

“It’s a comprehensive document which firmly sets Aludium on the path to measure, and enhance where possible, the long-term sustainability of our business,” he added.
The Report is divided into three main sections: People, Planet and Transparency.
In the People section, Aludium highlighted their focus on health and safety and engagement with local communities. It highlighted Safety Weeks, organized by the company that are meant to represent Aludium’s ethos of transparency, openness, and engagement with people and communities.
The Planet section outlines Aludium’s efforts to enhance recycling, reduce energy use and carbon emissions. It also highlights better management of water, waste, and noise. It shows how the company has been investing in enhancing their recycling capabilities and cut the carbon footprint since its inception in 2015. By the end of 2020, Aludium aims to recycle up to 170,000 tonnes of clean and dirty scrap in their facilities.
The Transparency section highlights Aludium’s business ethics and its efforts to meet the needs of their customers, suppliers, and communities as well as the Code of Conduct.
Aludium is a new entity in the aluminium sector which comprises three former Alcoa rolling mills in Spain and France and a state-of-the-art aluminium research and development centre in Spain.
