A00 aluminium ingot price plummets by RMB440/t to close at RMB22490/t; Alumina price gains RMB11/t to RMB3744/t

On Tuesday, September 28, A00 aluminium ingot price has plummeted by RMMB 440 per tonne to stand at RMB 22,490 per tonne, found the Shanghai Metals Market. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 22,470 per tonne and RMB 22,510 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 30-10 per tonne.

In Shenyang, primary aluminium ingot price has nosedived by RMB 505 per tonne to come in at RMB 22,420 per tonne, while the price in Chongqing has plunged by RMB 490 per tonne to peg at RMB 22,440 per tonne. In Foshan and Tianjin, aluminium price has decreased by RMB 450 per tonne to RMB 22,500 per tonne and RMB 22,480 per tonne and that in Wuxi and Hangzhou has shrunk by RMB 445 per tonne to stand at RMB 22,485 per tonne and RMB 22,490 per tonne, respectively.

Aluminium alloy (A356) price has also slipped by RMB 400 per tonne to come in at RMB 26,500 per tonne as of Tuesday, September 28. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 26,450 per tonne and RMB 26,550 per tonne.

Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have decreased by RMB 300 per tonne to close at RMB 24,350 per tonne and RMB 24,550 per tonne, respectively.

Among primary aluminium input costs, the average alumina spot price has continued to grow, albeit lower, by RMB 11 per tonne to settle at RMB 3,744 per tonne, learned SMM. In Guizhou and Guangxi, alumina price has built up by RMB 75 per tonne to stand at RMB 3,575 per tonne.

Alumina price gains RMB11/t to RMB3744/t

Australian alumina FOB price, on the other hand, has jumped by US$57 per tonne, following a steep fall of US$92 per tonne to come in at US$400 per tonne. As of September 28, imported alumina price is standing at US$457 per tonne.

Bauxite prices have also recorded declines across some of the major Chinese cities on September 28. Bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si＜5.5) price in Shanxi and Henan has dropped by RMB 10 per tonne and RMB 5 per tonne, respectively, to clock in at RMB 485 per tonne and RMB 520 per tonne, respectively. Bauxite (5.5≤Al/Si＜6.5) price in Guizhou and Bauxite (6.5≤Al/Si＜7.5) price in Guangxi have grown by RMB 30 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne to settle at RMB 360 per tonne and RMB 365 per tonne, respectively.
