Bühler celebrates 20 years of die-casting collaboration with Hyundai
Swiss technology group Bühler is marking 20 years of collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group. The partnership began with the installation of the first machine, an Evolution 270D, at Hyundai’s Ulsan complex in South Korea two decades ago. Since then, Bühler has delivered 43 die-casting systems to Hyundai production sites, including Carat and Evolution machines, across production sites in South Korea, China, and India. “Strong partners make strong products. Germany’s aluminium extrusion market was valued at USD 3,787.5 million in 2025 and is projected to grow at a 5.8 per cent CAGR through 2030, according to various industry sources. While automotive applications include EV components, chassis parts and structural assemblies, construction demand is supported by renovation and infrastructure projects, particularly for energy-efficient windows and façades. For the past two decades, the US aluminium industry has been treading through a volatile path, with a domestic primary aluminium sector deteriorating at a rapid and alarming rate, and the number of operational smelters falling from around thirty to only four. Primary aluminum output was estimated at 680,000 metric tons with a domestic demand hovering around 5.8 million metric tons in 2025, leaving the country heavily reliant on imports. Although the annual capacity remained unchanged from that in 2024, at 1.31 million metric tons per year, some smelters were operating at reduced capacities, while some faced temporary shutdown. $58m expansion strengthens Tampa Brass & Aluminum’s defence manufacturing
Tampa Brass & Aluminum is putting USD 58 million into its Hillsborough County facility following a series of new military contracts. The investment in machinery and equipment will also bring 50 new jobs to the area. The company manufactures components for the US Air Force and US Navy, handling production from raw materials through to finished products for missiles, submarines and other military systems.
