
Vedanta Limited has continued to increase its aluminium products prices for the third time in a row, with effect from Saturday, August 28, after a cut of INR 3,500 per tonne on August 19. The company’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 237,750-245,250 per tonne, up by INR 2,000 per tonne or 0.85 per cent from INR 235,750-243,250 per tonne on August 25.

Vedanta is selling its aluminium billet at INR 238,250 per tonne with from August 28 in comparison with INR 236,250 per tonne on August 25.
Aluminium ingot price has also seen a raise of INR 2,000 per tonne from INR 228,250-241,250 per tonne to INR 230,250-243,250 per tonne on August 28.
Vedanta limited links its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which grew on Friday, August 27, to US$ 2,673.50 per tonne. On a month-on-month calculation, the price is up by US$ 176 per tonne from 2,497.50 per tonne, and on a year-on-year basis, by US$ 935.50 per tonne from US$ 1,738 per tonne.
Vedanta’s aluminium business typically accounts for one-third of the company’s consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share in India's primary aluminium market.
