Novelis has supplied approximately 100,000 m² of aluminium façade materials for six construction projects across the UK, highlighting the metal's growing role in architectural design, infrastructure modernisation and urban regeneration. The materials have been used across developments in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London, covering applications ranging from transport infrastructure and residential refurbishment to commercial and mixed-use buildings.
The projects demonstrate the versatility of aluminium in modern building envelopes, with Novelis supplying architectural materials designed to combine durability, aesthetic flexibility and performance.
Aluminium supports diverse architectural applications
Commenting on the projects, Michael Hahne, Vice President Commercial of Novelis Europe, said, "These projects illustrate the breadth of architectural applications enabled by aluminium.”
“From transport hubs and residential towers to commercial and mixed-use developments, aluminium continues to provide architects and building owners with custom solutions that combine high durability, aesthetic versatility, and superior performance," he added.
The developments feature several products from Novelis' architectural portfolio, including J57S-UP batch-anodised quality aluminium and ff3, a 3 mm thick pre-painted aluminium product classified as fire resistance class A1.
Both products support architects, fabricators and developers in delivering modern building envelopes, with applications across different types of construction projects.

Six projects showcase aluminium across four UK cities
Novelis' materials have been incorporated into six developments across Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
The projects include the regeneration of Glasgow Harbour and the modernisation of Glasgow Queen Street Station. In London, the materials were used in the refurbishment of the Chalcots Estate, while Birmingham's Arena Central development also features Novelis aluminium.
Manchester accounts for two of the projects: the redevelopment of Hexagon Tower and the St Michael's mixed-use development.
The range of applications demonstrates how aluminium façade materials can support different architectural requirements, from infrastructure upgrades and residential refurbishment to large-scale commercial and mixed-use developments.

Fabrication partnerships support project delivery
Novelis works with fabricators and project partners to support architectural applications across the construction sector. Its partners include Gilmours, Sotech Optima and Metalline Architectural Fabrications.
These companies have repeatedly specified Novelis J57S-UP for architectural façade projects, drawing on its premium anodising quality, design flexibility and consistent appearance across large-scale developments.
As investment in urban regeneration, infrastructure modernisation and commercial construction continues, aluminium remains an important material for creating durable and visually distinctive building façades. Novelis' contribution across six UK projects highlights the range of architectural applications supported by its aluminium products.
