Capral backs provisional duties of up to 73.3% on Chinese aluminium windows and doors
Australian aluminium producer Capral has welcomed proposed trade measures against Chinese aluminium window and door imports, following preliminary findings of dumping and subsidies that have put pressure on local manufacturers. The Australian Trade Remedies Commission's investigation found dumping margins of 5.3 per cent to 70.4 per cent on certain imports. Provisional measures introduced on October 15 require importers to provide financial security against potential duties of up to 73.3 per cent. The investigation covers fully and partially assembled aluminium windows and doors imported from China between July 2024 and June 2025. Germany’s construction industry has endured several years of contraction, weighed down by elevated financing costs, expensive building materials and subdued residential investment. The downturn has also affected the country’s aluminium industry, with estimated construction-related aluminium consumption declining by around 12 per cent between 2022 and 2025. However, the outlook is beginning to change. With Germany’s construction industry projected to return to growth in 2026 and accelerate further in 2027, opportunities are emerging for aluminium suppliers across residential construction, transport infrastructure, energy networks and commercial developments. China aluminium extrusion output slumps as property weakness deepens, export boost fades
China's aluminium extrusion output has continued to trend lower, with the construction segment acting as a significant drag. According to Mysteel's sampled manufacturers, industry output sustained a decline from July to September 2026. Within this, construction aluminium extrusion output fell by a cumulative 21.2 per cent from early July to September, reflecting persistent weakness in traditional building demand. In contrast, industrial extrusion output declined by just 3.7 per cent over the same period, demonstrating relative resilience and providing a floor for total production. German-made aluminium dome set up for 72nd National Film Awards in Gujarat
A German-engineered aluminium dome has been set up at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat as part of preparations for the 72nd National Film Awards, with the prestigious ceremony being held outside New Delhi for the first time. The temporary high-tech structure has been installed in the Bus Bay area near the Statue of Unity and will provide a climate-controlled venue for around 1,000 guests attending the national ceremony. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the dome is part of a specially created venue with the 182-metre Statue of Unity as its backdrop. Across Europe, aluminium extrusion has become closely woven into some of the region’s biggest industrial and construction markets. ₹18b investment and 700 distributors: Aditya Birla Group launches Ultravolt wires and cables business
Aditya Birla Group has entered the wires and cables business with an investment of INR 18 billion (USD 190 million), launching the new business under the name Ultravolt. Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said the group's experience with aluminium and copper will be important in the new business, particularly for maintaining product quality, performance and consistency.
