US aluminium scrap prices plateau while Chinese aluminium scrap edges higher on Index

In the US, shredded scrap prices rose during the week ended August 19, while major US aluminium scrap commodities weekly average prices on Scrap Register Price Index stayed stable.

According to TSI, US Midwest shredded scrap index ticked up $1 a long ton to finish the week at $237 a long ton.



The weekly average scrap prices of 5052 Alum Clip, Al/Cu Rad with Iron, Alum Breakage 50%, Alum Litho Sheets, Alum Rad with Iron, Alum Radiator, Alum Transformer, Alum Transmission, Alum Turning, Mix Alum Casting, 6061 Alum Extrusion, 6063 Extrusion, Al/Cu Radiator, and Alum Old Sheet, 356 Auto Wheels showed a steady trend during the week.

China aluminium scrap update:

The Chinese aluminium scrap prices edged up marginally on the Scrap Monster Price Index on October 14th, Friday.

6063 Extrusions witnessed a rise of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day. Aluminium Radiators and Transformers prices were up by CNY 50 per MT each. E.C Aluminium Wire prices jumped higher by CNY 100 per MT to touch CNY 13,450 per MT. Old Cast prices increased by CNY 100 per MT. The prices of Old Sheet and Old Cast witnessed rise of CNY 100 per MT each. UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices too were up by CNY 100 per MT each.
