
According to the US Census Bureau data, the United States exported 22,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to Mexico in May 2021. That was a decrease of 1,900 tonnes or 7.95 per cent from 23,900 tonnes in April. The aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports from the United States to Mexico also decreased in April by 2,600 tonnes or 9.81 per cent from 26,500 tonnes in March.

However, on a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico in May 2021 stood up by 59.42 per cent or 8,200 tonnes from 13,800 tonnes.
In the first five months of the year, the export volume of aluminium flat rolled products from the US to Mexico totalled 118,000 tonnes, up 9,000 tonnes or 8.26 per cent from 109,000 tonnes during the same period last year.
The United States total aluminium exports (including aluminium crude metals and alloys and aluminium scrap) to Mexico amounted to 45,500 tonnes in May 2021, declining by 3,700 tonnes or 7.52 per cent from 49,200 tonnes in April. On a year-on-year basis, the export in May was down by 16.51 per cent from 54,500 tonnes.
In May 2021, the United States exported 55,100 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars in total, which was a month-on-month decline of 3,700 tonnes or 8.17 per cent from 60,000 tonnes but up 8 per cent on-year from 39,900 tonnes.
