The difference in imports in 2025 vs. the years prior
In 2025, Ukraine’s bauxite import showed a significant change from the ups and downs of previous years, mainly due to a sharp drop in 2022, which followed a recovery in 2023 and 2024.
Import volumes are set to rise by an impressive 23.7 per cent year-on-year, reaching 43.5 thousand tonnes, with the value of imports also on the upswing. Unlike the prior years, which were marked by bouncing back from steep declines and the influence of re-exports, 2025 presents a more organised sourcing strategy.
