UC Rusal plots Cameroon bauxite deal

A delegation from UC Rusal has visited Cameroon with the aim of securing its supply of bauxite.
As a result of the visit, RUSAL expressed its intention to undertake a feasibility study of various metals and mining projects in Cameroon, as well as the development of necessary transport infrastructure.
During the visit, the delegation studied the possibility of the company’s participation in the bauxite and alumina production in the country. It is part of Cameroon’s development policy to attract foreign investors.
“Cameroon is of great interest to RUSAL, as it has significant reserves of bauxite. The country is characterized by political stability and a favorable investment climate, which is especially important for foreign partners,” said Yakov Itskov, Director of Rusal’s International Alumina Division.
