LME aluminium price drops 2.62% as stocks remain stable at 241,375t on October 1
The London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium price graph dropped further in the October 1 trading session, reporting major declines of 2 per cent and above across the pricing and contract segments. Stocks in the aluminium inventory remained stable for three consecutive days. The LME aluminium cash price dipped by 2.6 per cent from USD 3,203 per tonne to USD 3,119.5 per tonne. The offer price moved from USD 3,204 per tonne to USD 3,120 per tonne, representing a slightly higher 2.62 per cent plunge. China Steel Aluminum to invest $32m in Taiwan's smart manufacturing plant
China Steel Aluminum, a subsidiary of China Steel, will invest approximately TWD 1 billion (USD 32 million) to build a smart manufacturing plant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The investment was among two expansion applications approved by the Invest Taiwan Office on October 1, with a combined value of TWD 1.1 billion (USD 33 million). The new facility will be located in the Xiaogang District and focus on smart manufacturing and lower-carbon production. Ex-China aluminium market runs steadily as market awaits Q4 MJP settlement
This week, the overseas aluminium market was generally mediocre, with limited trading activity across major markets. In South Korea, purchases were mainly small-scale restocking, with little change in prices. In Thailand, demand remained weak, and some sellers slightly lowered their offers due to shipment pressure.
