NWU requests details on the future of bauxite

In Jamaica,The National Workers Union (NWU) has written to Mining Minister Clive Mullings requesting an update on future plans for the bauxite/alumina sector.
The union, which represented workers who were displaced following the closure of mining plants at the height of the global financial crisis, also wants information on plans to resume operations.
Vincent Morrison, President of the NWU, says the letter was sent to Mr. Mullings last week.
