Manaksia Aluminium said the sharp improvement in profitability was supported by lower material costs despite only modest revenue growth. However, the statutory auditor referred to pending GST assessment orders involving a demand of INR 390 million (USD 41 million) along with applicable penalties under the CGST Act, 2017. The company said it does not expect any material liability, citing favourable rulings by the Kerala and Uttarakhand High Courts.

The company also incorporated Manaksia Aluminium Inc. in Delaware and Metal Star Ceiling Panel FZE in the UAE during the quarter. Consolidated financial statements have not been prepared as the share application money for the new entities has not yet been deposited.
