
Hindalco Industries Limited has further increased its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices this week with effect from Friday, April 23. With the latest hike, Hindalco’s aluminium ingot price has come in at INR 206,000 per tonne, up by INR 2,750 per tonne or 1.35 per cent from INR 203,250 per tonne on April 20.

Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price is standing at INR 217,100, reflecting an increase of INR 2,750 per tonne from INR 214,350 per tonne on the previous day. Hindalco’s aluminium billets price has also been raised by INR 2,750 per tonne to INR 213,100 per tonne as of April 23.
Hindalco links its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which after April 20 increased by US$ 49.50 per tonne to US$ 2,373.50 per tonne as of Thursday, April 22. On a year-on-year calculation, the three-month futures of aluminium on LME are therefore currently up by US$ 912 per tonne or 62.40 per cent.
Aluminium operations of Hindalco, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc, generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
