Hindalco back-to-back grows its aluminium ingot price by INR3750/t with effect from September 24

Hindalco Industries Limited has increased its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices for the second day in a row by INR 3,750 per tonne on Friday, September 24. The latest hike has brought the company’s aluminium ingot price at INR 249,500 per tonne, up by INR 3,750 per tonne or 1.53 per cent from INR 245,750 per tonne on September 23.

Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price has come in at INR 260,600 per tonne with effect from September 24, also an increase of INR 3,750 per tonne. On Thursday, September 23, Hindalco’s aluminium wire rod price stood at INR 256,850 per tonne after increasing by INR 2,500 per tonne from the previous day.

Hindalco is currently selling its aluminium billets at INR 256,600 per tonne in comparison with INR 252,850 per tonne on September 23.

Hindalco Industries Limited links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which increased continued to grow by US$50 per tonne to stand at US$2,937 per tonne on September 23. On a month-on-month calculation, the price stood up by around US$328 per tonne from US$2,609 per tonne, and on a year-on-year basis, it was higher by US$1,218.50 per tonne than US$ 1,718.50 per tonne.

Aluminium operations of the company, excluding those of its US arm Novelis Inc, generally account for nearly half of its total sales and 70% of its operating profit.
