Constellium SE has entered into a multi-year agreement with Airbus for the supply of aluminium alloy extrusions, strengthening its long-standing position in the aerospace supply chain.

Under the agreement, Constellium will supply a range of extruded products, including bars and both small and large profiles, manufactured using advanced aluminium alloys. The portfolio includes its proprietary aluminium-lithium solution, Airware®, which is widely used in aerospace applications requiring high strength-to-weight ratios.

The materials supplied under the contract will be used in structural aircraft components, including fuselage frames and other critical load-bearing parts where durability, weight reduction and performance remain key requirements.

Production will be carried out at Constellium’s Issoire and Montreuil-Juigné facilities in France, both of which are integrated into its aerospace manufacturing network.

Philippe Hoffmann, President of Constellium’s Aerospace and Transportation business unit, said,
“We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Airbus through this new agreement. This contract reflects Airbus’ confidence in our advanced aluminium solutions, our industrial capabilities, and our commitment to delivering high-quality products to support their future programmes.”

However, the financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed yet.

The contract comes at a time when aircraft manufacturers are securing long-term material supply to support production ramp-ups amid strong order backlogs and increasing focus on lightweight, fuel-efficient aircraft. Aluminium-lithium alloys, in particular, continue to see adoption in next-generation aircraft programmes due to their ability to reduce weight while maintaining structural performance.

Constellium has been a long-term supplier to Airbus across multiple programmes, providing advanced aluminium products and solutions for aerospace applications. The latest agreement reinforces continuity in that relationship while ensuring supply visibility for critical materials over the coming years.
