
After over week-long ups and downs, the A00 aluminium ingot price has decided to record no change today, January 11, according to Shanghai Metals Market. The price thus continues to hover at RMB 13,310 per tonne. The average prices are expected to remain the same as well between RMB 13,290 per tonne and RMB 13,330 per tonne, with spot discounts to settle at RMB 30 per tonne to RMB 10 per tonne. The average spot price marks a growth by RMB 10 per tonne from the previous day.

But the major markets in China shows a different picture as the ingot prices there have recorded drops today, found Shanghai Metals Market. The prices in the east, Wuxi and Hangzhou, have plunged RMB 15 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,305 per tonne and RMB 13,325 per tonne, respectively. The price in the south has also decreased to hover at RMB 13,340 per tonne, marketing a drop by RMB 30 per tonne. Markets in the north, however, have stood exception as the ingot price there has increased marginally to RMB 13,300 per tonne.
The alumina spot price has also shown restraint today at RMB 2,879 per tonne, after two consecutive drops in the previous days, according to SMM.

Unlike ingot prices, alumina price has registered its restraint across all the major markets in China. Thus, the alumina prices in the east, central, north and south are continuing to hover at RMB 2,910 per tonne, RMB 2,900 per tonne, RMB 2,860 per tonne, respectively.
Other input costs have shown no change either.
