As the growth in aluminium ingot price has touched all the major markets in China, the markets in the east (Wuxi and Hangzhou) have recorded a rise by RMB 25 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,320 per tonne and RMB 13,335 per tonne, respectively. In the north, the price has increased by RMB 30 per tonne to hover at RMB 13,290 per tonne. Only the markets in the south have registered no change in aluminium ingot price from RMB 13,370 per tonne, as of yesterday, January 9.
Today, the aluminium ingot price increased in spite of the further price fall of alumina in the spot market. According to SMM, the alumina spot price has recorded a shrink yet again by RMB 14 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,879 per tonne.

In the east, the price has plunged RMB 10 per tonne from RMB 2,920 per tonne to RMB 2,910 per tonne while in the central and north, the prices have shrunk from RMB 2,910 per tonne to RMB 2,900 per tonne and from RMB 2,880 per tonne to RMB 2,860 per tonne, respectively. Thus, each of the places has marked a plunge by RMB 10 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne. The price in the south market has shown no exception either and also declined to RMB 2,860 per tonne from RMB 2,870 per tonne.
Other input costs like that of bauxite, the pre-baked anode, aluminium fluoride, and aluminium powder continue to show restraint.
