Bua residents concerned at the dust pollution from bauxite mine.

They raised the issue in a meeting with the Commissioner Northern last month.
The dust comes mostly during the transportation of the bauxite from the mine to the jetty.
Director Mineral Resources Malakai Finau says they are now looking at ways to address the issue with the landowners.
Meanwhile Finau has refuted claims by the landowners of a bauxite spill which was reported in the Fiji Times early last month.
Finau says an investigation was carried out by a team led by the Commissioner Northern.
It was an unproven allegation regarding the claim by the landowners of the bauxite spillage at Naiviqiri where the jetty is.
Concerns were also raised on the harmful effects of bauxite to the rivers and the environment.
