Bosai’s dust collector 90% completed
The management of Bosai Minerals Group Guyana Incorporated says its dust collector is about 90 percent completed as the company seeks to reduce dust emissions from its kiln dryers in Linden. The bauxite company has been working with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) on the best dust control methods for the kilns.

Bosai’s Personnel Officer, Mr.Vance Reid said that several meetings were held with the EPA and GGMC to discuss the company’s plans for dust collector installation. He stated that for the past six months they have been building this dust collector but an integral part need to be shipped in from china.

The local bauxite company failed to meet its commitment to put one of two dust collector units in operation by February month-end.

Chief Medical Officer, Shamdeo Persaud says the ministry remains committed towards relieving residents of the situation.
