According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the average alumina spot price in China has increased by RMB 31 per tonne after remaining restrained at RMB 2,489 per tonne for a week. Thus, the price has come in at RMB 2,520 per tonne as of Thursday, July 22.
In Henan, the average alumina price has gained RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,530 per tonne, followed by the rise of RMB 35 per tonne in Shanxi to settle at RMB 2,545 per tonne. In Shandong and Bayuquan, alumina price has climbed by RMB 20 per tonne to peg at RMB 2,510 per tonne and RMB 2,530 per tonne, respectively.
Caustic soda (32% concentration) Henan price has surged by RMB 75 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,100 per tonne, while caustic soda (32% concentration) Shandong price has inched up by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 625 per tonne as of July 22, found SMM.
However, despite the rise in raw materials prices, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price has slipped by RMB 30 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,060 per tonne on July 22. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 19,040 per tonne and RMB 19,080 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 40-0 per tonne.
But this decline has not touched upon all major Chinese cities like Shenyang, Linyi and Tianjin. The price in Shenyang and Linyi has grown by RMB 55 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,080 per tonne and RMB 19,090 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Tianjin has gained RMB 20 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,070 per tonne.
Aluminium alloys prices, on the other hand, have remained restrained. While aluminium alloys (ADC12) price has continued to stand at RMB 18,650 per tonne, aluminium alloy (A356) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price are hovering around RMB 19,700 per tonne and RMB 19,650 per tonne, respectively.
