The voice of the UK aluminium industry, ALFED (The Aluminium Federation), is back with their annual parliamentary breakfast briefing. The event will concentrate on importing and exporting to give industry stakeholders important insight into the shifting aluminium situation. It will be held on September 19th at the House of Commons in London. Previously on June 20, ALFED had hosted members from throughout the aluminium supply chain in the House of Lords for its annual legislative lunch.

Tom Jones, chief executive officer of the Aluminium Federation, said, "ALFED's parliamentary breakfast briefing is a significant and anticipated event in the annual industry calendar. Our sector plays a vital role in the UK economy and our members relish the opportunity to raise key issues with the highest levels of UK government. This year the key focus of discussion will undoubtedly be on the ever-evolving landscape and some of the challenges facing import and export."
In addition to offering distinctive perspectives on the aluminium supply chain in the United Kingdom and Europe, the breakfast event will allow the members to engage with governmental entities. In this context, individuals can pose questions of significance and engage in open dialogue about crucial matters.
The event will witness people from the aluminium supply chain and will be co-hosted by ALFED's President, Mike Dines, Director, Tandom Metallurgical Group, and Philip Dunne, MP. It will occur at the famous and historic House of Commons Palace of Westminster.
ALFED members, policymakers, and business leaders will be able to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the changing dynamics in the UK aluminium market and identify areas for growth, strategic collaborations, and supply chain optimisation to improve their competitive position.
"Alongside sharing unique insight into the aluminium supply chain across the UK and Europe, the breakfast provides our members with key access to government. Pressing questions can be asked and important issues discussed freely. Our members are keen to see progress with international trade agreements for the aluminium sector, so this is a great opportunity to understand all of the issues and have open discussions about resolving them," added Mike Dines, president of ALFED.
