ASI certifies Amcor Flexibles Kreuzlingen AG, Switzerland against Performance Standard V3.1 (Transitional – Principles 1-4)
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Amcor Flexibles Kreuzlingen AG, Switzerland has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3.1 (2023). The facility produces lacquered, laminated and printed aluminium and composite foils, as well as transparent inorganic barrier films, for food, pharmaceutical and technical packaging applications, with an annual production capacity of approximately 260 million square metres. The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) today announced that Nemak Wernigerode GmbH has been certified against the ASI Performance Standard V3.1 (2023). The facility produces aluminium components for the automotive industry using core package systems with gravity and GSPM casting, followed by heat treatment, machining and assembly. The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. Hindalco’s 8.5Mt Baphlimali mine secures India’s first ASI certification
Hindalco Industries’ Baphlimali bauxite mine in Odisha has become the first bauxite mining operation in India to secure certification under the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s (ASI) Performance Standard V3.1 (2023). The certification was awarded to Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL), a Hindalco subsidiary that operates the mine in Rayagada district. It covers the planning, mining, processing, onsite crushing and conveyor transportation of bauxite from the Baphlimali operation. The mine has an annual production capacity of 8.5 million tonnes and supplies bauxite to Utkal Alumina’s refinery operations.
