Operating rate declines notably due to holiday; ADC12 price expected to remain strong after the holiday
This week, the aluminium scrap market price centre moved slightly lower along with primary aluminium. As of September 30, SMM A00 aluminium prices closed at RMB 24,030 per tonne, down RMB 190 per tonne from last Thursday, with aluminium scrap prices broadly following the decline. In terms of price spreads, the price difference between A00 aluminium and mixed aluminium extrusion scrap free of paint in Foshan stood at about RMB 2,550 per tonne, while the price difference between A00 aluminium and shredded aluminium tense scrap was about RMB 1,384 per tonne. Aluminium scrap: This week, China's Aluminium scrap market remained relatively stable. As of September 24, SMM A00 Aluminium prices closed at RMB 24,240 per tonne, up slightly by RMB 60 per tonne from RMB 24,180 per tonne last Thursday, with domestic Aluminium scrap market prices holding steady overall. Canada’s recycled aluminium sector: Key initiatives since 2021
Canada is using a mix of federal funding, provincial recycling rules and private investment to build a stronger market for recycled aluminium. Over the past five years, policy changes and new projects have improved scrap collection, added remelting capacity and reinforced the country’s position as a low-carbon aluminium hub. India’s aluminium recycling sector has matured significantly over the past decade. Secondary aluminium, produced by remelting and refining scrap, now accounts for a growing share of the country’s total aluminium consumption.
