Anda expands aluminium die casting capacity to meet rising EV demand
China's Anda Group is expanding its aluminium die casting production capacity in Huzhou as demand for lightweight automotive components continues to grow across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) markets. The first phase of the expansion is already operating at high utilisation, while the second phase is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2026. Once completed, the project will add approximately three million aluminium die cast components to the company's annual production capacity. According to the company, the investment is aimed at easing existing production constraints and fulfilling a growing order backlog that is already secured through the second half of 2026. MQP to unveil aluminium grain refiner for high-performance applications at Aluminium China 2026
MQP will introduce its new Optifine 5:02 aluminium grain refiner at Aluminium China 2026, taking place from 8-10 July in Shanghai, as demand grows for cleaner aluminium used in aerospace and premium automotive applications. The company said the new grain refiner has been developed to meet increasing requirements for high-strength aluminium and superior surface quality, including applications requiring a mirror-like finish. Delegates attending the exhibition can learn more about the product at Stand 1C01. According to Matthew Piper, Technical Business Development Director at MQP, manufacturers are seeking grain refiners with significantly lower levels of inclusions, such as agglomerates and other local defects, to improve downstream processing and achieve higher-quality surface finishes....

Explore how GM is expanding aluminium casting capacity in Indiana to support 10-speed transmissions and strengthen its US manufacturing footprint. General Motors is investing more than USD 40 million in its Bedford Casting Operations in Indiana, expanding aluminium casting capacity to support production of 10-speed transmissions for full-size trucks and SUVs. Italian aluminium die-casting company 2A USA will invest USD 32 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Auburn, Alabama, increasing its capacity to produce large and complex aluminium components for the North American heavy truck industry.
