China's Anda Group is expanding its aluminium die casting production capacity in Huzhou as demand for lightweight automotive components continues to grow across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) markets.

The first phase of the expansion is already operating at high utilisation, while the second phase is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2026. Once completed, the project will add approximately three million aluminium die cast components to the company's annual production capacity.

According to the company, the investment is aimed at easing existing production constraints and fulfilling a growing order backlog that is already secured through the second half of 2026.

Expansion supports EV component production

Anda manufactures a range of precision aluminium die cast components, including oil pans, inverter housings, electric motor housings and suspension parts. The company supplies several automotive manufacturers, including Chinese electric vehicle makers NIO and Leapmotor.

Alongside the production expansion, Anda is establishing a new research and development centre to strengthen its product development capabilities. The company plans to bring tool and mould development fully in-house, a move expected to reduce development and pilot production timelines for new products by around one-third.

Dedicated production lines for electric vehicle components are also being added to support future customer programmes and accommodate increasing demand from the EV sector.

Revenue and profit record double-digit growth

Anda continued its financial growth during fiscal year 2025, reporting revenue of CNY 1.015 billion (approximately USD 150million), up 11.4 per cent from the previous year.

Net profit increased by 20.1 per cent to CNY 69.5 million (approximately USD 10.26 million).

Following its listing on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) in 2024, the company is now preparing for an initial public offering on the Beijing Stock Exchange.

The expansion reflects the broader investment trend across China's aluminium die casting industry, where automotive suppliers are increasing production capacity to meet rising demand for lightweight, high-performance components used in electric vehicles. The industry is also placing greater emphasis on integrating engineering, tooling and manufacturing capabilities to accelerate new vehicle programmes and improve competitiveness across the global automotive supply chain.
