China’s A00 aluminium ingot price dwindles by RMB120/t M-o-M; Alumina price gains RMB2/t

The Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) on Monday, September 4, opened the week with a contraction of RMB 200 per tonne to settle at RMB 19,410 per tonne. The spot contract price is expected to be traded at a premium price of RMB 0 to RMB 40 per tonne. The average prices may orbit between RMB 19,390 per tonne and RMB 19,430 per tonne.

M-o-M, the A00 aluminium ingot price has dwindled by RMB 120 per tonne from RMB 18,530 per tonne recorded on August 4, 2022. As per the SMM data, Y-o-Y, a drop of RMB 10 per tonne was witnessed from RMB 18,420 per tonne as captured on September 5 2022. The prices, as of today (September 4, 2023), have shown a downfall in all the provinces except in Shenyang and Linyi, where it has surged by RMB 450 per tonne to land at RMB 19,510 per tonne and RMB 19,560 per tonne.

Apart from this, the prices in Wuxi, Foshan and Hangzhou have slumped by RMB 220 per tonne, RMB 210 per tonne and RMB 200 per tonne to clock at RMB19,390 per tonne, RMB 19,220 per tonne and RMB 19,410 per tonne. On the same day, the domestic aluminium ingot prices in Gongyi, Chongqing and Tianjin have fallen by RMB 180 per tonne, RMB 170 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,270 per tonne, RMB 19,380 per tonne and RMB 19,460 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has nosedived by RMB 213 per tonne to land at RMB 19,932 per tonne. The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have fallen by RMB 200 per tonne to clock at RMB 26,900 per tonne and RMB 27,900 per tonne. The average alumina spot price has grown by RMB 2 per tonne to rest at RMB 2,918 per tonne. The alumina prices have remained unchanged in all the provinces except in Shanxi, where it has grown by RMB 10 per tonne to reside at RMB 2,930 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has slumped by RMB 200 per tonne to clock at RMB 20,050 per tonne, with average prices between RMB 19,900 per tonne and RMB 20,200 per tonne. On the same day, the price of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) dipped by RMB 100 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,550 per tonne and RMB 20,550 per tonne. For (ADC12) the average prices may range between RMB 19,450 per tonne and RMB 19,650 per tonne. For aluminium alloy (A380), the average prices may stand between RMB 20,450 per tonne and RMB 20,650 per tonne.
