Vedanta Aluminium, India’s leading producer of aluminium, has reinforced its dedication towards excellence in manufacturing by conducting a Business Partner Workshop on Safety and TQM at its Jharsuguda plants. More than 115 representatives from more than 20 significant business partner organisations connected to the company's operations attended the session.

The initiative was designed as a collaborative industry platform to deepen engagement on workplace safety, operational discipline and quality management practices across the aluminium value chain. It was intended to enhance safety standards, improve quality systems, and develop a culture of accountability through constructive dialogue and active participation among all the personnel working in the factory.

A major focus of the event was aligning leadership intent and operational behaviour with Vedanta Aluminium’s long-term objective of achieving zero injuries and complete compliance with safety regulations across all operational areas. During the workshop, leadership teams from business partner companies joined Vedanta’s senior management in taking a collective safety pledge, reaffirming their commitment towards ensuring Zero Harm at workplaces.

The pledge also highlighted the importance of driving 100 per cent adherence to safety protocols, systems and statutory requirements while encouraging visible leadership involvement through active on-ground engagement. In addition, the discussions emphasised strengthening discipline, supervision and accountability at every level of industrial operations.

In addition to that, the workshop comprised a detailed examination of various existing safety measures along with the importance of TQM in increasing efficiency and effectiveness. For organisations operating in a manufacturing setting, TQM is of paramount significance since it helps in promoting the idea of continuous improvement by ensuring the maintenance of high quality, worker involvement and consumer satisfaction. TQM is also instrumental in encouraging proactively managed risk-taking while keeping operational consistency intact.

The workshop represented another safety measure introduced by the company in addition to other steps taken in this regard earlier this year. In the month of March in 2026, Vedanta Aluminium celebrated its 55th National Safety Month through safety campaigns, training programs, AI-based monitoring systems and community engagement programs. Such an initiative emphasised the need for workplace safety, proactive risk-taking and worker involvement, positively affecting the lives of around 10,000 local inhabitants.

Addressing the participants, C Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Jharsuguda, said, “Safety and quality are core elements of our operations and fundamental to the way we work and grow. Maintaining a high degree of excellence in both these areas requires collective ownership, consistent systems and strong partnerships.”

Chandan Sharma, CEO, Rajendra Mechanical Private Limited (RMPL) added, “Workshops such as these play a vital role in strengthening safety standards while bringing clarity, alignment and consistency to best-in-class practices in manufacturing operations. Vedanta Aluminium’s leadership-driven focus on safety and quality excellence fosters shared accountability among business partners and helps raise benchmarks for operational safety.”

Vedanta Aluminium has continued to strengthen its safety culture through routine inspections, leadership-led audits and regular operational reviews aimed at keeping safety integrated into daily activities. The company has also introduced people-centric initiatives such as awareness campaigns, behaviour-based safety programmes, coaching interventions and family engagement activities to make workplace safety more intuitive and deeply embedded across operations.
