
The United States aluminium scrap exports to the Republic of Korea increased marginally in September 2020 by 400 tonnes month-on-month to stand at 24,200 tonnes, found the US Geological data. In August, the United States aluminium scrap exports to Korea were at 23,800 tonnes dwindling by 800 tonnes from 24,600 tonnes in July. This shows the US aluminium scrap exports to the Republic of Korea maintained a stable trend through the three months of Q3 2020.

The total aluminium scrap exports from the US to Korea in the third quarter of 2020 came in at 72,600 tonnes, up by 4,000 tonnes from 68,000 tonnes in Q2 2020.
In the first nine months of 2020, the United States exported 214,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap to the Republic of Korea as against 203,000 tonnes during the same period last year. So, year-on-year, the United States aluminium scrap exports to Korea during January-September 2020 increased by 11,000 tonnes or 5.42 per cent.
The export in September 2020 stood higher by 600 tonnes year-on-year from 23,600 tonnes.
The Republic of Korea was the third-largest aluminium scrap importer from the US in September 2020, followed by Mexico securing 12,800 tonnes in the same month, down by 600 tonnes month-on-month from 13,400 tonnes and 3,500 tonnes year-on-year from 16,300 tonnes.
